General Dentistry
The everyday care that keeps small problems from becoming big ones.
Most of what we do is quiet and routine, and that is rather the point. Seeing you twice a year means we catch things while they are small and cheap to fix, instead of meeting them at their worst.

Comprehensive exams, professional cleaning and hygiene care, fluoride treatments and sealants. We will talk you through what we find and what it means, in plain language. Preventative care keeps your teeth and gums healthy and helps you avoid more complex treatment later.

They are also an excellent way to stabilise loose dentures, so you can eat a full range of food without anything shifting or rubbing. Dr Elena Constantin
Periodontal treatment, oral surgery and complex implant work usually mean a drive to Canberra or Sydney. Not here. Dr Elena Constantin holds clinics with us every month. She graduated with Honours from Carol Davila University in Bucharest and is in her second year of a specialist Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics at the University of Sydney.
What matters is not the credentials, it is what they save you. No two hour drive, no overnight stay, and a specialist working alongside the dentist who already knows you.

Periodontal disease is very common. It is a bacterial infection that damages the gums and the bone holding your teeth in place. Early on you might notice puffy or bleeding gums, or bad breath.
Left untreated the infection spreads, teeth loosen and can be lost. It has also been linked to other conditions including stroke and heart disease. Gum disease cannot be reversed, but it can be successfully treated and stopped from progressing.
Treatment is a deep clean of the pockets around the teeth, called root planing and scaling, and doing it properly is what makes it work. Our team is trained to carry this out here at the practice. Dr Constantin uses EMS airflow technology and current deep-cleaning techniques under local anaesthetic.

Wisdom teeth often become impacted, decayed and painful. It usually comes down to a lack of room, and most people need one or more removed. We routinely take wisdom teeth out here under local anaesthetic, and we can offer oral sedation if that would make it easier for you.
We also treat other impacted teeth and carry out minor oral surgical procedures, including biopsies.

We offer facial skin cancer checks, and anti-wrinkle treatment for men and women. Dr Tuckwell is a certified practitioner with the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics.
